1. I cannot login to Betfair Rapid or view any markets?
Logging into Betfair Rapid is a simple process. On opening Betfair Rapid for the first time click the Set-Up tab towards the top left of the screen, then the option for Betfair Account.

Within this screen enter your Betfair Username and Password and then, as a minimum check the Accept Betfair Terms and Conditions Checkbox. After doing so hit the Login button and on confirmation of the connection to Betfair hit the Betting Tab to view markets and bet on the Betfair Exchange.

If you also check the "Login to Betfair when Betfair Rapid opens" checkbox you will be presented with a popup login box every time you open the Betfair Rapid offering quick login functionality.

2. Why use Betfair Rapid?
We believe in offering our customers choice and over the years have offered many ways for our customers to bet with us. These have included, aside from the main website, Betfair Mobile, Betfair Lite, Betfair Direct and many more products.

As well as our own products we also developed an API that has allowed third parties to create specialist commerical applications. With Rapid we have created our first standalone application using our API and are aiming it at those users who wish to use a customisable application with a high speed bet placement process and an enhanced market navigation tool.

3. Will Betfair charge for this product in future?
At present there are no plans whatsoever to charge for use of Betfair Rapid.

4. How do I view markets and bet with Betfair Rapid?
On first opening the software, select the Setup tab and then the Betfair Account option. From there enter your Betfair username and password and check the relevant check boxes. Once you have logged in you will see a small green indicator in the bottom left of the screen. This indicates that you are connected to Betfair.

5. Who can I contact about Betfair Rapid?
You can contact the Betfair helpdesk who will forward your message onto us, alternatively you can mail us at rapid@betfair.com and we will get back to you.

6. Is Betfair Rapid affected by Betfair's API data request charging scheme?
Yes it is. However we have ensured that the application is compliant with this and that you will not be charged for making excessive calls to our API.
However, this only applies if you have one instance of the application at any one time. Given the high frequency of price updates if you open more than one instance of the application then you run the risk of being charged for use of the API. If you are running just one instance of the application you will be absolutely fine.

7. I want to upgrade to the latest version of Betfair Rapid – what do I do?
Betfair Rapid should automatically pick up software updates every time you start the application.
If this is not happening, go to the folder where Betfair Rapid is installed (this is probably C:\Program Files\Betfair\Betfair Rapid) and completely delete the folder called “UAB”.
Then restart the Betfair Rapid application. It should now pick up software updates.

8. I am using Vista and I am experiencing issues using the latest version of Betfair Rapid. What can I do?
The problem you are seeing could be due to the User Access Control feature of Vista. To solve this issue:

  1. Go to Start -> Control Panel

  2. Select "User Accounts"

  3. Click "Turn User Account Control on or off"

  4. Make sure the "Use User Account Control" checkmark is not checked

  5. Click OK
  6. Restart Betfair Rapid
