Finally some sun in August and now it’s football season... So does that mean more goals in dry conditions or fewer as players get back to match fitness? The punter's conundrum!

With more matches on TV and more money in the sport than ever, we had a chat with Premiership stalwart Gary Speed about what it might mean for punters. He answers some of the questions you’ve no doubt been discussing all summer, sharing his thoughts on the new season and some of the more novel markets Betfair are offering.

The big sporting event this autumn will be the Rugby World Cup hosted in France. Is it going to be a walk in the park for New Zealand as the odds suggest? We’ve made rugby our Sport of the Month with an insight into the rules and how to bet on this exciting sport. There’s also an opportunity to win a pair of tickets to see England v Ireland in the Six Nations at Twickenham next March.
