Do you play either of our exchange games and why?
I’ve played exchange poker a few times now. It is great fun and I usually bet on the outsiders. I once backed Q2 against QQ, AJ and 78 and won. I think the odds were something like 20/1.
Is there an advantage playing to pure maths, i.e. not having to worry whether a player is bluffing?
Yes. When you are playing poker online then you have to think about numerous factors, whereas with exchange poker you can bet purely on the odds. If you like backing a favourite, you can do that every time, or take a punt on an outsider.
Is Exchange Poker a better introduction to the world of poker than going straight into a game on Betfair Poker?
I think probably yes. It certainly has its advantages; you don’t have to think about all the other factors when you play exchange poker like the size of bets, pot odds and position. If you are just starting out it gives you a good grasp of the odds of each hands without having to worry about people bluffing.
Can playing Exchange Poker make you a better regular Poker player?
I think the best thing about exchange poker is that you can see how the odds of different hands change after the flop and the turn. If you didn’t have a good understanding of the odds of different hands, then it would definitely help improve your poker.
If you had never bet on the sporting exchange, would you recommend Exchange Games as good stepping stone to learning the fundamentals of making money on an exchange, specifically backing and laying?
I think it’s a much more fun way to learn than betting on the sporting exchange. Also, because you get so many hands per hour on exchange poker, you can get experience of backing and laying much faster.
