Terms & Conditions

  1. You must be a UK or Ireland resident and aged 18 years or over to enter this competition. None of the employees nor any family members of employees of Betfair may enter.
  2. To stand a chance of winning you must correctly answer the qualifying question. Please also ensure that you correctly fill in the entry form and click ‘submit’. Alternatively you can email your answer, with your Full Name, Email address, and Username to competitions@Betfair.com. In the Subject line, put “INPLAY February 2006 promotion”.
  3. The closing date for receipt of entries is midnight on 20th February 2006. Competition entries not received by Betfair before this time will not be eligible.
  4. Shortly after the closing date, the names of the first 150 entrant to correctly answered the qualifying question (‘“Last year’s Johnnie Walker Classic was won by Adam Scott, but what nationality is he?”’) will be drawn at random. Assuming all other conditions have been met the selected individuals will be declared the winner.
  5. Winners will be notified by email by 23rd February 2006. If for any reason beyond Betfair’s control, Betfair is unable to make contact with the winner within 5 days of sending the email, then Betfair reserves the right to select another winner based on a further random draw.
  6. Each of the 150 winners will receive one copy of “Elliott’s Golf Form 2006” (ISBN 1-901570-54-1) each.
  7. Only one entry may be made per registered account. By entering you accept and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. Instructions form part of the terms and conditions.
  8. Fraudulent, multiple or incorrectly completed entries will not be accepted, neither will entries made in breach or non-compliance with these terms and conditions. No liability is accepted for entries that are not received for any reason by Betfair. Betfair reserves the right to exclude any entrant from the competition and from use of the Betfair website if Betfair believes that an entrant has tried to enter the competition by using more than one user name or is otherwise engaging in any fraudulent activity, whether or not that entrant would or might have won any prize but for such activity.
  9. The prize is not transferable or exchangeable.
  10. By entering this competition, in the event that you are the winner you agree to reasonable use of your name and image on the websites and in promotional materials produced by or on behalf of Betfair.
  11. You hereby assign any and all copyright or other intellectual property rights in your entry to Betfair for Betfair’s unrestricted usage and agree to do all such acts and/or execute or procure the execution of all such documents in a form reasonably satisfactory to Betfair to confirm Betfair’s full ownership of such rights.
  12. The name of the winners can be obtained by sending an email after the closing date to info@Betfair.com or by writing to Betfair at Waterfront, Hammersmith Embankment, Chancellors Road, London W6 9HP. All emails and letters should be clearly marked “INPLAY February 2006 promotion”.
  13. Betfair in its sole discretion reserves the right to withdraw or vary the terms of this competition and/or any offer made in connection with it any reason and shall not be held liable to any entrant for so doing.
  14. The decision of Betfair in respect of any matter concerning or related to this competition is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  15. You agree that these terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England.
  16. The promoter of the prize draw is Betfair, the trading name for The Sporting Exchange Limited of Waterfront, Hammersmith Embankment, Chancellors Road, London W6 9HP, a UK registered company.
